License Server: Statistics – Anonymized vs full user names

Description
License Server can generate statistics CSV files that include usage information per user or machine. In many regions, data protection regulations (such as GDPR) restrict storing or distributing identifiable usage statistics without user consent. To address this, License Server uses anonymized usernames by default when exporting statistics.

Solution

1. When exporting statistics to CSV from License Server, note that:
   • The default setting anonymizes user and seat names.
2. If the organization has obtained appropriate consent and wants full usernames in statistics:
   • Open the statistics export dialog in License Server.
   • Disable the anonymize usernames option (wording may vary by version, e.g. “Anonymize users” checkbox).
   • Export the CSV again; full user or seat names should now appear in the file.
