What is the purpose of siautils.exe (or sldutils.exe) in Signals Inventa and Signals Lead Discovery?

Executables siautils-<version>.exe (formerly sldutils-<version>.exe) is a command line utility that helps migrate data from previous versions of Signals Lead Discovery to the latest version of Signals Inventa.
