Overview
Data Factory 2.0 can sync with only one Signals One material library at a time. To switch the syncing library, the current sync must be disabled and all existing Data Factory 2.0 projects must be deleted before enabling sync for a new library.
Warning: This is a destructive action. Any existing Data Factory 2.0 projects must be removed, and data published under the previous library hierarchy may become inaccessible. Changing the syncing library is recommended only during initial setup or testing.
Steps:
1. Disable the Current Library Sync
- 1a) Navigate to Signals Config > Materials > Material Management.
1b) Uncheck Inventa Sync check box for the currently synced library and toggle off the Material Activation
- 1c) It should look like this:
2. Delete All Data Factory 2.0 Projects
- 2a) Navigate to Signals Config > Data Factory > Projects.
- 2b) Delete all existing Data Factory 2.0 projects.
Note: Please proceed with caution. Project deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
- 2c) If all projects were successfully deleted, then the Projects section should be missing from the left menu like this:
3. Enable Sync for the New Library
- 3a) Return to Signals Config > Materials > Material Management.
- 3b) Turn on the Material Activation toggle and enable the Inventa Sync checkbox for the new material library.
Note: When enabled, Data Factory hierarchy names will update to match the selected Signals One library
4. Create a New Project
- 4a) Add a new Data Factory 2.0 project to Signals Config > Data Factory > Projects.
- 4b) Assign the appropriate read and write permissions to the project
Note: It is important to assign the Project Permissions. If you do not assign read/write permissions to at least one new project, you will not be able to perform the required configurations in Step 5 below.
5. Configure Mapping and Activate Sync for the Project
- 5a) Return to Signals Config > Materials > Material Management > select Project Activation, next to the Inventa Sync checkbox. Navigate to the Data Factory Mapping > +Add New Mapping section
- 5b) Configure the required asset-level mapping and click Save Map on the bottom of the page:
- 5c) Configure the batch-level mapping and click Save Map on the bottom of the page:
Note: The activation toggle for the new project will be disabled by default and is available only after both asset-level and batch-level mappings have been configured.
5d) Activate synchronization from Project Activation & Status
5e) Syncing will begin...
- 5f) And update to show 'In Sync" when complete:
