Introduction: This article explains how to fix the Datasets tab showing no datasets in Signals Data Factory 1.0 after the compound (material) library sync is disconnected and reconnected. The datasets still exist (the record count shows, search returns results, and Inventa queries return the data), but they aren't listed because the toggle on the right side of the Sync tab is turned off.
Validated Scenarios:
Scenario 1: Datasets Tab Empty After Sync Reset
- The compound library sync was disconnected and reconnected
- Afterwards, the Datasets tab showed no datasets, but:
- The record count was still shown (for example, 1425 records)
- Searching for text returned the expected results
- The data could still be pulled through an Inventa query
- The datasets had been added in several ways:
Add Dataset, publishing from Spotfire, and publishing from ADT - Turning on the toggle on the right side of the Sync tab in the Datasets pane → Immediate resolution
"That was it... I missed that toggle when I reset the compound sync. Everything looks good now." - User Report
Scenario 2: Buckets Not Visible / Compound Map Not Loading
- Symptoms seen after a recent hotfix:
- No buckets shown as syncing, and buckets didn't appear
- The newest compound bucket didn't map
- The compound map hung when opened, while other maps worked (Chrome and Firefox)
- A forced reindex didn't fix it
- Disconnecting the compound library sync and connecting it to the project again restored bucket visibility
- Reconnecting then caused Scenario 1 (empty Datasets tab), which the Sync tab toggle fixed
"I disconnected and reconnected the compound library sync as you suggested, and that did fix the visibility of buckets." - User Report
Process Steps:
- Reconnect the Compound Library Sync (only if buckets are missing or the compound map won't load)
- Log in to the tenant and open Data Factory 1.0
- Disconnect the compound (material) library sync from the project
- Connect the sync to the project again
Turn On the Sync Tab Toggle
- Open the Datasets pane
- Find the Sync tab
- Turn on the toggle on the right side of the Sync tab
- Note: This toggle is easy to miss when you reset the sync. Check it every time you reconnect
- Verify
- Check that:
- The datasets are listed in the Datasets tab again
- The buckets are visible and the newest compound bucket is mapped
- The compound map opens
- Check that:
Key Findings:
- Datasets Hidden, Not Lost:
- When the Sync tab toggle is off, the Datasets tab lists nothing, even though the datasets still exist
- It doesn't matter how the datasets were added (Add Dataset, Spotfire, ADT, or API)
- Sync Connection Glitch:
- If the sync didn't connect to the project properly, buckets may not show and the compound map may hang. Disconnecting and reconnecting the sync fixes this.
- Expected "Syncing" Behavior:
- In DF 1.0, the "syncing" indicator only shows while a background sync job is running. When no buckets are listed as syncing, that's normal as long as the datasets and buckets are still populated.
Critical Note: Whenever you reconnect or reset the compound library sync, check that the Sync tab toggle in the Datasets pane is on. If the toggle is on and reconnecting the sync doesn't help, contact Revvity Signals Support with the tenant URL, a HAR file, and screenshots of the Datasets pane and the Sync tab.
