Adding a New Reactant to an Existing Reactants Collection
To add a new reactant section to an existing Reactants collection.
- Browse to the Reactants collection you want to add the Reactant to, clicking the collection in the Navigation Tree to select it. The Reactants collection appears under My Reactants, with the existing reactants displayed in the right frame.
- Highlight My Reactants and the Acronym icon appears in the Home ribbon.
- Click Acronym . The New Acronym dialog appears.
- Enter a Name for this new acronym.
- Click Create.
A new Acronym section appears with the new name in the right frame.
- Draw or import the structure using the Chem Draw tools.
The formula and molecular weight properties are updated automatically. - Enter text for the compound name.
- Add the properties in the lower right corner of the right frame.
This text displays in the Table of Contents for the Reactants folder containing this reactant. - Click the Reactants folder in the Navigation Tree to view its Table of Contents.
Adding a New Reactants Collection
You can add a new Reactants collection to your Reactants folder in E-Notebook.
To add a new Reactants collection from the Home ribbon:
- Expand your User Configuration collection in the Navigation Tree and select the Reactants Folder.
- With the Reactants folder highlighted, click on Reactants from Home ribbon.
- A new Reactants folder appears in the Navigation Tree and you are prompted to rename it.
- Enter a name for the new Reactants folder.
You can add a new Reactants collection using the right-click menu. From the Navigation Tree, right-click on Reactants folder and select New > Reactants.
You can copy, duplicate, delete, or rename a Reactants folder.
