Issue: When attempting to delete a file in the SDM (section of a reopened experiment, users encounter an error message:
"file links cannot be deleted where visual display of changes is in effect"
Root Cause: This is a known limitation affecting SDM sections that were created in ELN versions prior to 20.1.
Resolution:
For SDM sections created before ELN 20.1: This limitation cannot be bypassed.
For SDM sections created in ELN 20.1 and later: The deleted file will display with strikethrough formatting (only if ChangeDisplayTListener is configured), allowing users to see the deletion history while maintaining audit trail compliance.
Affected Versions: ELN versions prior to 20.1
Fixed In: ELN 20.1 and later (with ChangeDisplayTListener configuration)
