Spectrus: How to Import Data from Waters Connect to Spectrus Processor

Description

Waters UNIFI (.uep) data can be imported directly into Spectrus Processor by using the Connect to option for a Waters UNIFI system. However, when Waters UNIFI is replaced by Waters Connect, direct import using the Connect to tool is no longer supported. In this case, the data must be exported from Waters Connect using Waters Data Converter and saved as .mzML files with UTF-8 encoding to ensure compatibility with Spectrus Processor.

Solution

1. Use Waters Data Converter, available with recent Waters Connect installations, to convert the .uep files to .mzML format.
2. In the converter settings, make sure the output .mzML files are encoded in UTF-8 rather than ANSI.
3. Export the complete chromatography and mass spectral data to .mzML.
4. Import the resulting .mzML files into Spectrus Processor.
