Description
In some cases, after reprocessing data in Katalyst, users may notice that visual results, such as chromatograms or analysis outputs, do not appear to change even though the reprocessing completes successfully and no errors are reported. Users may also need to restore the original processing settings if unexpected or inconsistent results are observed.
This article provides step-by-step instructions to:
- Restore the default processing settings for wells
- Remove reprocessed data and return the wells to their original state
- Reprocess data from a clean starting point to ensure expected results are displayed
Solution
Restore Default Processing Settings
To return the processing options for one or more wells to their original default values:
- Select the well(s) you want to reset.
- In the Processing Settings pane, click Restore Defaults.
- Verify that the settings have been reset to the expected default values.
- Click Reprocess to apply the default processing settings to the selected well(s).
Note: Restoring default settings can be useful when processing parameters have been modified or when reprocessed results appear inconsistent or do not match expectations. This allows you to restart the analysis using the original configuration.
Remove Reprocessed Data from Wells
If visual results do not reflect the latest reprocessing or you want to clear results to start fresh:
- Right-click the affected well(s) in the workspace.
- Select Remove Data from the context menu.
- Choose Reprocessed.
- Confirm the action when prompted.
Tip: This action removes all reprocessed data associated with the selected well(s), allowing you to perform a fresh reprocessing run using new or updated parameters. This can be helpful when troubleshooting unexpected results or ensuring that previous reprocessing results do not affect the current analysis..
Additional Tips
- If visual results do not appear to update after reprocessing, verify that you are viewing the correct data trace and refresh the session if necessary. Logging out of Katalyst and logging back in can help resolve display issues related to browser or session caching.
- If the issue persists, contact your internal support team and provide a detailed description of the problem along with any relevant screenshots. In addition, please collect and share the following log files with Revvity Support for further investigation:
Web Server

Note: Providing the recommended logs along with screenshots and a clear description of the issue can significantly reduce investigation time and help Support identify the root cause more efficiently. For detailed log collection instructions, please refer to the associated Knowledge Base article.
