Description
A single user is unable to log into Katalyst. Common causes include an incorrect or expired password, especially when the Katalyst password is the same as the user’s PC password, or missing permissions to use the Web API.
Solution
- Password‑related causes:
- The user password is incorrect → Enter correct password.
- The user password is expired → Update the password.
- User passwords may be configured via active directory groups, in Keycloak, or from the enterprise server manager console. If passwords are automatically changed, user must ensure correct credentials. If the password has expired contact admin to update credentials.
- Web API permission issues:
- The usage of Web API may be disallowed for the user.
- Start Spectrus DB Enterprise Server Management Console (ESMC) (<ACD>\SPECTRUSDB.SRV\ESMC.EXE).
- Connect with administrator account.
- In Users/Groups, under Users tabs confirm that the number of API‑enabled users does not exceed available license keys.
- Confirm that the user belongs to the KAT_USERS group, if not add the user into this group.
- Confirm KAT_USERS group has ‘Can Use Web API’ permission assigned.
The KAT_USERS group can be configured with different name, confirm correct group configuration.
