Description
- Users see unexpected units or values in experiment views:
- Concentrations, volumes, or amounts displayed in different units than expected.
- Calculated values not matching manual calculations due to unit mismatch.
Solution
- Check material and plate configuration:
- Confirm that base units for materials (e.g., mg, mL, molarity) are correctly defined.
- Ensure wells have consistent unit assignments for volumes and amounts.
- Review Katalyst unit settings:
- Where configurable, set preferred display units for key properties at the environment or user level.
- Check whether automatic unit conversions are enabled and based on the correct conversion factors.
- Validate calculations:
- For one or two wells, manually calculate expected amounts/ concentrations using the same base units.
- Compare with Katalyst’s values to identify where a unit or conversion factor is misconfigured.
- If specific units are unsupported or misbehaving:
- Switch to a supported combination of units.
- Raise a ticket with details (examples, screenshots) so unit handling can be reviewed and improved.
