Description
- A material (e.g., compound) record is updated in the central Materials Table (e.g., structure correction, new properties).
- Existing experiments that already use this material:
- Still show the old structure or values.
- Do not appear to update automatically.
Solution
- Understand binding behavior:
- When experiments reference a material, Katalyst may store a snapshot of some properties at experiment creation time.
- Not all fields automatically update when the source material changes.
- Options:
- If Katalyst provides a “refresh materials” function for experiments, use it to update linked material information.
- For critical corrections (e.g., incorrect structure), consider:
- Manually updating affected experiments, or
- Re‑creating experiments with the corrected material if required by data governance.
- For new experiments:
- Ensure the central Materials Table is correct before creating new experiments to minimize downstream corrections.
