Description
- After moving an experiment through certain workflow states (e.g., internal review, approval), users can no longer edit:
- Title, description, project, or other metadata fields.
- This behavior is by design in some workflows, but users may not expect it.
Solution
- Review workflow configuration:
- Identify which workflow states mark experiments as read‑only for certain fields.
- Confirm whether this aligns with your organization’s data‑governance policy.
- If metadata must be editable:
- Adjust workflow settings to allow editing in those states.
- Alternatively, introduce an intermediate state (e.g., “Under Review – Editable”) before fully locking the record.
- For existing experiments:
- An admin may temporarily move the experiment back to an editable state, adjust metadata, and then re‑finalize if policy allows.
- Ensure any such changes are logged/audited.
