Description

• A user wants to change an experiment’s owner (e.g., due to team transition).
• The UI option to change owner is not available, or updates are rejected with a validation error.
• This may be restricted by permissions or workflow rules.

Solution

• Confirm permissions:
  • Check whether the user has a role that allows editing ownership fields.
  • If not, ownership changes must be done by an administrator or project owner.
• Confirm workflow state:
  • Some states (e.g., finalized/approved) may block ownership changes.
  • If policy allows, temporarily move the experiment back to an editable state, adjust owner, then re‑finalize.
