Katalyst: Understanding which Katalyst experiment fields are used in standard reports

• Users fill many metadata fields but are unsure which ones matter for:
  • Standard summary reports,
  • Regulatory or management dashboards,
  • External exports.
• This leads to inconsistent data entry and reporting gaps.

Solution

• Identify reporting requirements:
  • For each key report/dashboard, list the Katalyst fields it depends on (e.g., project, experiment type, indication, owner, status, key numeric metrics).
• Document “report‑critical” fields:
  • Mark which fields must be filled correctly for an experiment to appear properly in standard reports.
• Configuration:
  • Where possible, make critical fields mandatory or add validation rules, so users cannot finalize experiments missing required report fields.
