• Users attempt to attach files (e.g., custom report formats, vendor‑specific data files) to an experiment.
• Katalyst rejects the attachment or shows an error because the file extension is not allowed or recognized.
• Other file types (PDF, images) attach correctly.

Solution

• Identify allowed file types:
  • Verify the list of supported or allowed file extensions in Katalyst’s configuration or documentation.
• If the file is safe and should be allowed:
  • Ask an administrator to:
    • Add the new extension to the allowed list (if supported).
    • Or configure a generic category for unknown extensions.
• Workaround:
  • Compress the file (e.g., zip) if compression formats are allowed and attach the archive instead.
  • Clearly label the contents in the attachment description.
