Description
- After a VM restart of the Spectrus DB Enterprise (SDBES) server used by Katalyst, users report that Katalyst is down or cannot access data.
- License validation for SDBES fails with an error similar to:
Activation server reports: "There are no license keys in request." - Previously activated license keys appear “lost” or deactivated.
Solution
- On the SDBES/License Server host:
- Launch the License Manager.
- Check whether required SDBES and Katalyst‑related license IDs are still activated.
- If licenses are not active:
- Re‑activate the license keys using the original activation details (license file or credentials).
- Confirm license status shows “Activated” for all necessary components.
- Investigate why activation was lost after restart:
- Ensure the license storage location (e.g., local filesystem, registry, or shared config path) is persistent and not reset by VM rollback/snapshot operations.
- Coordinate with infrastructure teams to avoid reverting to snapshots taken before activation.
- After re‑activation:
- Restart Spectrus DB Enterprise services.
- Confirm Katalyst can connect and that users can open experiments and upload data.
