Description
- A user can log into the Katalyst production environment successfully.
- After logging into production, they are unable to access the associated development environment they previously used (e.g., for training content).
- The request is to regain access to the lower environment while still using production.
Solution
- Check license activation and user assignment for the development environment:
- Confirm that Katalyst and Spectrus DB licenses in dev are still active and not restricted to a smaller user pool.
- Ensure the user’s account or group is still mapped to dev‑environment roles.
- Confirm that SSO/identity or local authentication supports:
- Logging into multiple environments (dev vs prod) under the same user identity, or
- Separate technical user(s) for dev/testing if required by policy.
- If the issue is license‑related:
- Reactivate or adjust dev environment licenses to allow the required user.
- If the issue is purely access control:
- Update group membership or role assignments in dev.
- After changes, ask the user to:
- Log out of all Katalyst sessions.
- Access the dev environment URL directly and log in again.
